George Goetz, M.D., Ph.D. grew up in South Bend, IN and received his bachelor’s degree in chemistry form Brown University in Providence, RI in 1981. He moved to New York City where he received his MD degree, as well as a doctorate in molecular biology from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1989.
He then completed internship and residency in internal medicine at Indiana University and Washington University in St. Louis, MO. His fellowship in gastroenterology was completed at Washington University in St. Louis.
Dr. Goetz was a faculty member of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock before joining a gastroenterology group in Indianapolis in 2000. Dr. Goetz practices all aspects of gastroenterology and hepatology and has a special interest in inflammatory bowel disease and infectious diarrhea.
He is a member of the American College of Physicians (ACP), the American Gastoenterological Association (AGA) and the American Society for
Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE).
In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, canoeing and other outdoor activities.
